Courses
All group classes run Monday through Friday except during official Italian holidays.
Students must present themselves at school on their first day at 09.15
One class hour equals 55 minutes.
In the event that after the entrance test level there are only one or two students for a particular level, the 4 hour standard Italian course will be converted into 2 hours of Individual tuition with the possibility to attend for the other two hours the class of the more similar level.
In the event that there are only 3 students for a particular level, the number of hours for the class will be reduced by 1 hour per day (for example: 3 hours instead of 4 for the Standard class) given the more intense nature of a small class size.
In case of complaints, students can address our administrative office to talk to the Director of Studies.
Accommodation
Finding accommodation is a free service for all students regularly enrolled.
Accommodation is at students' disposal from the Sunday before the beginning of the course until the Saturday morning following the end of the course. The arrival time must be communicated to the school or to the owner at least 3 days before.
The school acts only as an intermediary regarding the lodgings, and takes no responsibility regarding the relationship between the renter and the student.
Every accommodation available through the school has been carefully selected. If the student decides not to attend classes or to shorten the stay, he/she is not entitled to any refund.
Students who choose to stay in apartments are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of them. A deposit of € 50,00 must be left, which will be refunded the morning of departure. The deposit or a part of it, can be withheld for any of the following reasons: the lodgings haven't been cleaned, damage to the apartment, its furnishings or objects.
Sheets are provided but towels are not. Guests are not allowed without the school's permission. Students requesting that their accommodation be changed must offer serious and justifiable reasons. In this case the school, after having evaluated the request, provide alternative accommodation.
Cancellation
In order to claim back full repayment, the student is required to send a written cancellation to the Institute at least 20 days before the beginning of the Italian course by post or by e-mail. Beyond this date no refund will be made. However, payments can be used as vouchers for other Italian courses that the student may attend within one year after the annulment. The Language school reserves the right to establish the amount and to deduct the costs of remittance of payment and repayment of the amount.
Visa
Students coming from countries that require a visa to study abroad need to contact the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their home country beforehand to complete the formalities. A certificate of enrolment is one of the requirements for obtaining a visa. In order to receive a certificate of enrolment the student must pay the full tuition fee(s).
Health Insurance
Students from non-EU countries are requested to take out a private health insurance for six months or one year. We advice our students to enquire about it at their Italian embassies. European students can apply to their private or public health insurance, which entitles them to get free medical assistance by the Italian National Health Service.
Responsibility
The school is not liable for the loss of personal objects on the premises.
